01 / Your workspace

As focused as possible.
As much studio as you need.

A place for your music.

Every launch begins in Pure Play. Music, meters, monitoring and your collection are ready. Inserts and analysis panels have their own space.

  • Stereo / Mono, Volume, Balance
  • Transport and Crossfade

02 / The instruments

Two faces.
One signal.

Digital gives you a direct view of Peak and RMS. Vintage brings illuminated instruments with a defined VU reference. Your music and settings stay in place when you switch.

Six tools.
More clarity.

For the moments when you want to listen more closely. Native tools, a visible signal path and a deliberate separation between opening and enabling.

New in Studio Pro / Loudness Meter

Understand loudness.
Preserve dynamics.

An entire track or your actual monitor output: two deliberately separate perspectives. Hushquay reveals loudness, peaks and history without changing the music to measure it.

A measurement in contextCurrent · 1.61 · ↗ Enlarge

Analyse the entire track independently of effects and player volume. The selected measurement reference adds context; it does not normalise an audio file.

01 / Reference

Listen to references.
Discover the nuances.

Two tracks, musically comparable excerpts and optional LUFS-based loudness matching. A/B retains the relative position; measured waveforms and separate level readings make the comparison clear.

A home for your tracks.

Import files and folders, find your tracks and create playlists. Format, sample rate and duration stay visible. Originals remain in place; removing a library entry does not delete its audio file.

Six stars for your judgement.

Where is sound shaped, monitored and measured? Choose a stage to explore the order. This diagram explains the app; it does not control audio playback in your browser.

Local music and transitions

Local audio files supply the signal. When Crossfade is enabled, two player branches overlap. The file itself is unchanged.

06 / Connected to your setup

The right route
to your ears.

Audio interface, Mac or display speakers: select an output for Hushquay or follow the system route. A clear device browser brings search, groups and status together.

Direct or Follow macOS

Your setup decides.

Direct selection changes only Hushquay’s route. For AirPlay, HomePod or Apple TV, setup takes you to macOS Sound settings.

Hardware levels act in addition to player volume. The current behaviour of Mac and Studio Display speakers is documented precisely in the guide.

07 / Good to know

Precise answers.
Clear expectations.

What stays visible in Pure Play?

The title and position bar, both meter designs, Stereo/Mono, volume and balance, transport, Shuffle, Repeat, Crossfade, DIM, Mute, audio output, and the library with playlists and six stars. Inserts belong to the Studio Pro Rack.

Does switching between Digital and Vintage change the sound?

No. Both designs display and control the same audio engine. Music, position and settings are retained. Digital shows sample peak and RMS; Vintage displays RMS with a VU reference.

Does Studio Pro automatically enable sound processing?

No. The workspace makes the tools accessible. The Rack, Balancer and Headphone monitor are enabled separately. A closed panel can still be active; its tool card shows the state.

Are the Audio Units shown included?

Third-party Audio Units come from your Mac’s installation and require their own licences. Hushquay also offers three internal effects. Installing Logic does not automatically make its internal plug-ins separately hostable.

Can Hushquay detect AI-generated music?

No. The app reads metadata and measures audio signals. This cannot reliably prove how a track was created. The six stars are your personal rating.

Can Hushquay export a finished master?

The current version processes playback and monitoring. JSON and CSV export measurement reports, not processed audio. The Spectral Balancer supports tonal decisions; it is not a fully automatic mastering assistant.

Which Macs are supported?

Version 1.61 is built for Apple Silicon on macOS 14 or later. An Intel or already available iPad version is not offered here. Build and platform details are in the feature guide.
